Rangers place Colon on DL with back strain

The Texas Rangers placed right-handed pitcher Bartolo Colon on the 10-day disabled list on Friday, retroactive to Tuesday, with a lower back strain. The team has also recalled infielder Hanser Alberto (#2) from Triple-A Round Rock.
