Rivera homers in return from DL as Halos sweep

Rene Rivera said he was eager to return to the Angels after spending three months on the disabled list with a right knee injury. It didn’t take him long to make an impact, as the veteran catcher crushed a tie-breaking home run off Kirby Yates in the ninth inning to lift the Angels to a 3-2 win over the Padres on Wednesday night, completing a three-game sweep at Petco Park.
