Shields hit by liner, day to day with knee bruise

White Sox starter James Shields left in the seventh inning of Monday’s 5-3 loss to the Indians at Guaranteed Rate Field after being struck on the right knee with a Francisco Mejia line drive. Shields has a bruised right knee and is listed as day to day after X-rays were negative.
