Shoemaker finishes second in AL ROY Award race

Most years, Matt Shoemaker’s unforeseen-yet-impressive 2014 season would’ve garnered serious consideration for the American League Rookie of the Year Award. But this year belonged to White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu, and Monday’s results, which saw Abreu garner the award unanimously, only solidified that point.
