Simmons misses on Hall election by one vote
Though he remains one of the best-hitting catchers in baseball history, Ted Simmons, whose 21-year career included time with St. Louis, Milwaukee and Atlanta, was once again unable to garner enough support to earn a place in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
