Simmons sent for precautionary MRI (shoulder)

Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons exited Thursday’s 7-3 loss to the A’s with a left shoulder strain incurred while diving for a ball in the fifth inning. Simmons will undergo a precautionary MRI, but manager Mike Scioscia said the 28-year-old infielder indicated he was fine.
