Smoak plucked off waivers by Blue Jays
The Blue Jays claimed switch-hitting first baseman Justin Smoak off waivers from the Mariners on Tuesday afternoon. Toronto now has a $3.65 million option on Smoak for the 2015 season. If that gets declined, Smoak would enter his final season of arbitration following a year in which he made $2.63 million.
