Soler goes deep in first Major League at-bat

Jorge Soler didn’t waste any time proving he was ready for the Major Leagues. The Cubs’ No. 5 prospect homered in his first big league at-bat in the second inning Wednesday, crushing a 2-1 pitch from the Reds’ Mat Latos to center field. Following Luis Valbuena’s leadoff shot as part of a back-to-back effort, Soler’s blast gave the Cubs a 2-0 lead.
