Source: Scherzer close to signing, Nats in the mix

Free agent right-hander Max Scherzer is close to signing with a team, and a baseball source told MLB.com that the Nationals are one of the teams who have a chance to acquire his services. The Nationals did not confirm the report, and it’s not known which other team is in the mix.
