Sox achieve milestones in Game 1 rout of O’s
Mookie Betts became the 40th player in MLB history to reach the 30-30 club with his 30th stolen base of the season, Xander Bogaerts reached 100 RBIs with four-RBI day and J.D. Martinez cracked his 42nd home run — tied for the most in a player’s first season with the Red Sox — en route to Boston’s rout of Baltimore in Game 1 of a doubleheader at Fenway Park. Rafael Devers went deep twice and hit a three-run double on a six-RBI day, and Bogaerts (4 RBIs) and Blake Swihart added big flies. Red Sox starter David Price earned his 16th win with five innings of three-run ball, while the O’s Ryan Meisinger retired just one batter, yielding five runs in his first MLB start. Trey Mancini and Renato Nunez went deep for Baltimore.
