Sprained finger limits Trout to DH spot

The Angels issued the following statement regarding outfielder Mike Trout and left-hander Tyler Skaggs before Thursday night’s game against the Blue Jays: “Mike Trout has been diagnosed with a sprained right index finger. He is cleared to DH, and he will be evaluated in a few days to assess readiness to return to center field. Tyler Skaggs has been scratched with right hamstring tightness. At this time, he is considered day to day and will be evaluated tomorrow. We will update our plan of care when appropriate.”
