Surging Rays blank Jays for 4th straight win
The Rays kept up their winning ways thanks to opportunistic hitting and great pitching. Tampa Bay scratched across a run in the third on a groundout by Mallex Smith, and they tacked on three more runs in the seventh, with Ji-Man Choi delivering a crucial pinch-hit RBI double. Ryan Borucki acquitted himself well for Toronto, allowing two runs on just three hits in six-plus innings, but the Blue Jays’ bats were stifled by the Rays, who sent out seven pitchers in the shutout victory.
