Swanson’s game-saving throw seals Braves’ win
Moments after nearly being picked off, Freddie Freeman took advantage of an errant flip to first base by racing home with the go-ahead run in the 5-4, 10-inning win the Braves claimed over the D-backs Saturday night at Chase Field. Dansby Swanson ended the game with a defensive gem when he dove into the outfield grass to snare A.J. Pollock’s two-out RBI single. He then fired to the plate to retire Nick Ahmed, who was attempting to score the tying run from second base. The Braves moved 3 1/2 games in front of the second-place Phillies.
