Valdez K’s 9; Astros’ magic number down to 4

Astros left-hander Framber Valdez struck out nine over six innings of one-run ball in relief of Charlie Morton, who left the game with shoulder discomfort after the first inning. Yuli Gurriel hit a two-run home run in the first inning, and Evan Gattis added a pair of RBI singles. Tyler Skaggs allowed four runs over 2 1/3 innings for the Angels.
