Votto 2nd in historically tight MVP vote

Reds first baseman Joey Votto finished second in the vote for the National League Most Valuable Player Award. In voting revealed on Thursday, the Baseball Writers’ Association of America named Giancarlo Stanton the winner of the award, with Paul Goldschmidt finishing third.
