Young Bucs duo eyes SS with Mercer to Tigers

For the first time since 2013, the Pirates’ Opening Day shortstop will be someone other than Jordy Mercer. General manager Neal Huntington is still looking for an upgrade as the Winter Meetings draw to a close, but he and manager Clint Hurdle continue to speak highly of recently acquired infielder Erik Gonzalez and rookie Kevin Newman.
