After tempers flare, D-backs’ duo cools Cards
David Peralta and A.J. Pollock both took exception to home-plate umpire Tim Timmons’ strike zone early in the game, and the complaints of both led to the bases-clearing incident that fired up a cool day at Busch Stadium. D-backs manager Torey Lovullo was ejected in a second-inning fracas between the two clubs, while his left and center fielder were allowed to remain in the game. It turned out to be a good trade-off for Lovullo after Peralta and Pollock clubbed late-inning home runs to lead the D-Backs to a 4-1 win over the Cardinals.
