Astros release former top prospect Singleton

The Astros have released former top prospect Jon Singleton, the team announced Monday. The 26-year-old first baseman was drafted in the eighth round of the 2009 Draft out of Millikan High School in Long Beach, Calif., and signed a five-year, $10 million extension in 2014, announced the day before he made his MLB debut.
