Baez blasts 479-footer, but bows out of Derby

Cubs second baseman Javier Baez stepped into the batter’s box at Nationals Park and took a few pitches. Then the National League All-Star soon found his groove, and the result was 16 home runs in the first round of the T-Mobile Home Run Derby on Monday, the longest of which traveled 479 feet.
