Beltre placed on DL with strained hamstring

Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre was placed on the disabled list, retroactive to Monday, with a left hamstring strain. To take the roster spot held by Beltre, who aggravated the injury in the seventh inning of Sunday’s 6-1 loss to the Astros, Texas recalled infielder Hanser Alberto from Triple-A Round Rock. The club announced the move before Tuesday’s game with the Mariners in Seattle.
