Braves’ bats keep rolling, spoil Rockies’ opener
Neither bitter cold nor spitting snow could slow Dansby Swanson and the high-scoring Braves on Friday. Swanson finished a home run shy of the cycle as the Braves dominated the Rockies’ Coors Field opener, 8-3. Ozzie Albies homered in the first and even starting pitcher Brandon McCarthy added a two-run fifth-inning double, while Carlos Gonzalez opened his 10th season playing home games at Coors with a first-inning RBI triple and his first homer of the year.
