BREAKING: Lyles’ bid for history ends in 8th

Jordan Lyles gave Padres fans a thrill on Tuesday afternoon at Petco Park, carrying a perfect game into the eighth inning before losing his bid for what would have been the first no-hitter and perfecto in franchise history on Trevor Story’s clean one-out single to left.
