Bullpen dominates, Rays strike early to best O’s
Ryne Stanek started with 1 2/3 perfect innings, including three strikeouts, before Anthony Banda took over to toss 6 1/3 dominant frames as the Rays bested the Orioles, 5-1, at Tropicana Field. The Rays struck early, scoring two in the first and extending the lead on C.J. Cron’s two-run double in the second. Andrew Cashner struggled for the O’s, allowing 11 hits and five earned runs over five-plus innings of work to take his sixth loss of the season.
