Cubs place Heyward on concussion DL

The Cubs placed outfielder Jason Heyward on the 7-day concussion disabled list before Tuesday night’s game against the Marlins. Infielder David Bote was recalled from Triple-A Iowa to fill the spot of Heyward, whose DL assignment is retroactive to Monday. Heyward was injured on the final play of Sunday night’s Cubs game, which the Cardinals won in the 14th inning on a walk-off home run by Dexter Fowler.
