D-backs pound 4 homers, top Dodgers in 12
It was a bumpy road, but the D-backs beat the Dodgers again on Tuesday night, this time by an 8-5 score in 12 innings as A.J. Pollock, Chris Owings, John Ryan Murphy and Daniel Descalso all hit home runs. Descalso hit the go-ahead three-run blast in the 12th inning, his fourth of the year, off Dodgers reliever Yimi Garcia (0-1). The Dodgers were able to force extra innings when Enrique Hernandez hit a home run in the bottom of the ninth off Arizona closer Brad Boxberger to tie the score at 5. It was Boxberger’s first blown save in 12 chances.
