Mets release veteran first baseman A-Gon

The New York Mets announced that they have given infielder Adrián González his unconditional release. On Tuesday, the Mets will designate catcher Jose Lobaton for assignment, will recall Dominic Smith from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League, and will select the contract of infielder/outfielder Ty Kelly from Las Vegas.
