Nimmo connects for 1st career leadoff homer

Before Friday’s Subway Series opener, Mets players spoke about how the pomp and circumstance of the crosstown rivalry could spark them out of a nearly season-long funk. They certainly started out the right way, as Brandon Nimmo led off the bottom of the first with an upper-deck home run off Masahiro Tanaka for his first career leadoff homer.
