Nola impresses with scoreless ASG debut
Aaron Nola pitched the fifth inning for the National League in Tuesday night’s All-Star Game. He struck out Royals catcher Salvador Perez with the curveball that has fueled his rise. Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts met the same fate thanks to a 96 mph fastball. After Astros second baseman Jose Altuve knocked a first-pitch single, Nola got the game’s best player, Angels outfielder Mike Trout, to pop out. He threw 15 pitches.
