Nola K’s 10, drives in 3 as Phils take nightcap
Aaron Nola struck out 10 and allowed one hit in seven innings, and the All-Star right-hander hit a bases-clearing double in the fifth inning to lead the Phillies past the Mets 3-1 to gain a split in the doubleheader on Monday. Nola became the first NL pitcher to 12 wins. Rookie right-hander Corey Oswalt allowed one hit, Nola’s double, in six innings and struck out seven for the Mets, who won Game 1 of the twin bill in the 10th inning on Wilmer Flores’ walk-off homer.
