O’s place Trumbo on DL with rib-cage strain

The Orioles made a handful of moves before Monday night’s game against the Royals, placing outfielder Mark Trumbo on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to Sunday, with a right rib-cage strain, while adding newly acquired right-hander Jeremy Hellickson to the 25-man roster and transferring infielder J.J. Hardy to the 60-day DL. Right-hander Yefry Ramirez was also optioned to Double-A Bowie.
