Rays score in 9th to win Banda’s solid debut

Joey Wendle’s two-out, go-ahead RBI single off Royals closer Kelvin Herrera clinched the series victory for the Rays. Anthony Banda, acquired in the Steven Souza Jr. trade, gave up three runs in five innings in his Tampa Bay debut. Whit Merrifield drove in three for the Royals, who got six innings from Ian Kennedy.
