Jordan Zimmermann dominated the Rangers over eight innings, fanning 11 and allowing just one run on a leadoff homer to Shin-Soo Choo, who extended his consecutive games on-base streak to 45. Bartolo Colon was nearly as good in his attempt to become the winningest Latin-born pitcher, going eight innings himself but allowing two homers to James McCann and JaCoby Jones that made the difference.
